Redactar carta en inglés para una oferta de trabajo

La semana pasada vimos como pedir trabajo en respuesta a una oferta de empleo en italiano, hoy os mostramos su variante en inglés. Esperamos os sirva de ayuda, sobre todo si estáis buscando trabajo en el extranjero, que actualmente no sois pocos.

How to write an application form.

Normally, we find advertisements on the internet or in newspapers.

The following application letter format lists the information you need to include in the job application letter you send with your resume.

Remember to organise your application letter so that you mention each of the areas in the advertisement.

Salutation

Dear Mr./Ms. Last Name, (leave out if you don’t have a contact)

First paragraph

At the begining you need to say which job you are applying for and where and when you saw it advertised.

Middle praragraphs

Mention why you think you are suitable, and use words that are descriptive and precise; for example, ‘effective working relationships’ is better than ‘good working relationships’ because ‘effective’ suggests that the relationships were productive and relevant to the job whereas ‘good’ is a value judgement.

Use examples from your life: experiences of work, course and extra-curricular activities or skills such as leadership.

Also say when and how you can be contacted.

Final pragraph

Conclude your application letter by thanking the employer for considering you for the position.

Complimentary close

Use: Yours faithfully, if you do not know the name of the person who are you refering to and Yours sincerely when the name of the receiver is mentioned.

Finally, make sure all text is spelled correctly and written in clear, grammatical form.
