PERSON, PERSONS, PEOPLE.- Grammar Tips

Hoy venimos a explicaros la diferencia de uso que existe entre estas tres palabras: PERSON, PERSONS, PEOPLE.

  • PERSON: we used person in the singular to refer to any human being

«Pepe s such a nice person»

«She’s a person I have a lot of respect for»

  • PERSONS (plural) is a very formal word. We only use it in rather legalistic contexts

«Any person o persons found in possession of illegal substances will be prosecuted»

«I saw three people standing on the front door»

«Pepe and Carmen are such nice people»
